Stories from the floor
What ten months on the third floor does to a business.
These four stories, and the quotes below them, are illustrative: written from the kinds of businesses the floor is built for, to show what the first year looks like. As members agree to be named, their own stories replace these, in their own words, with their own numbers.

The short version.
“I stopped taking buyer calls from the car. Office 3-1 has a door, and the door was the whole reason I moved in.”
“I have a pallet of bottles in the storage room and a chair that does not wobble. I did not know how much I wanted either until I had them.”
“Underground parking in February. That is it, that is the reason. The coffee is also good.”
“The hides used to live under the dining table. Now they live in a closet on the third floor and the table is a table again.”
“Two mornings a week. It is quiet, the Wi-Fi is fast, and nobody has asked me about a funding round because nobody here has one.”
“The invoice has the desk and the GST on it and nothing else. After the last place I was in, that alone would have been enough.”
“We put four staff on the floor while we looked for a warehouse. Five months later we have the warehouse and we kept the desks, because the front desk still signs for our samples.”
